Founded in September 2011, Divine Restoration Worship Center in Garner, NC, embarked on a mission guided by the motto: "Leading People to Christ, While Restoring Hope to Their Purpose." The church's journey has been marked by faith, resilience, and transformation.
The Founding Years (2011 - 2013):
In its initial years, Divine Restoration Worship Center blossomed as a beacon of hope in the Garner community. Under the visionary leadership of its founder, then Pastor Everton Harris, the church passionately embraced its mission of bringing people closer to Christ and reigniting their sense of purpose. Lives were touched, hearts were healed, and souls were saved.
A Time of Transition (2013 - 2015):
In January 2013, the church faced a challenging period, leading to the temporary closure of its doors. This phase was a test of faith, a time for reflection, and an opportunity to strengthen the church's foundation. The congregation remained resolute in their commitment to the vision and eagerly anticipated the day when the church would be revived.
A Glorious Rebirth (December 2015 - Present):
Divine Restoration Worship Center experienced a remarkable resurrection in December 2015. With renewed energy, a reinvigorated vision, and a deeper sense of purpose, the church reopened its doors to the community. This rebirth marked a turning point in the church's history.
Since then, lives have been profoundly impacted, and hope has been restored to countless individuals. The ministry of Divine Restoration Worship Center has thrived under Apostle Everton Harris's steadfast leadership, impacting not only the local community but also extending its reach far beyond. Apostle Everton Wayne Harris, hailing from Trenton, New Jersey, is the son of the late Kevin Harris and Leasa Farquharson. His journey of faith began at a tender age, accepting Jesus Christ at a very young age. His spiritual foundation was deeply influenced by his grandparents, Overseer & Evangelist Farquharson, emphasizing prayer, understanding the Word of God, and fostering a personal relationship with Him. At just 12 years old, after dedicated prayer and fasting, Apostle Harris answered the call of God to minister and preach. Apostle Harris is a powerful, Holy Ghost-filled man of God, a diligent student of Scripture, abundantly wise, deeply rooted in faith, and anointed with Apostolic authority, acknowledged as a genuine Prophet of God. Undoubtedly, the ministry is characterized by the unmistakable presence of miracles, signs, and wonders, all while he effectively operates in the full spectrum of the five-fold gifts. He's an alumnus of Morrisville High School, where he held positions as Class President and Jr. Mayor of the City. Furthering his education, Apostle Harris attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC, pursuing degrees in Elementary Education and Religion and Philosophy. He believes in making a difference and demonstrated this by leading the on-campus organization "Gentlemen of Distinction, Inc." In 2021, he earned a Bachelor of Theology from North Carolina Theology Seminary, followed by a Master of Divinity from Kingdom Builder School of Theology in Roxobury, NC, in June 2023.
In September 2011, after much fasting and prayer, Apostle Everton Harris founded Divine Restoration Worship Center in Garner, NC. Where they are “Leading People to Christ, While Restoring Hope to Their Purpose!” He is also the Founder and CEO of Everton Harris Ministries. On March 6, 2021, he was consecrated as a Bishop and affirmed as an Apostle in the Lord Church by Bishop Darrin Christopher Johnson, the Presiding Prelate of the Dominion Alliance of Pentecostal Churches, Norfolk, VA. Apostle Harris is the founder of the Divine Covenant of Fellowship Churches. Beyond the pulpit, he's an educator in the Wake County School District and serves as the Chaplain of the Tre Devon Lane Foundation. He also sits on the board of Grace within Transition. In 2015, he married Mrs. Corinthia Cooper. Together, they walk in divine purpose, fulfilling their God-given assignment here on Earth. They take immense pride and joy in their two daughters, Eliana Beverly Naomi and Camryn Micah Marie. Apostle Harris' ministry continues to transform, heal, cultivate, and deliver countless lives even today. The tangible results of his dedicated work are a testament to his unwavering commitment to the divine call.
